The history
In 1990 Sally Gold walked into a ramshackle, literally, and with foresight and vision pictured the outbuildings full of people, enjoying good food, conversation and company, in a homely convivial atmosphere.
Having grown up in Yorkshire, she then trained as a teacher, teaching in London, Cambridge and Northallerton over a period of eight years. Inheriting her love of cookery and entertaining from her mother, Sally wished to pass this onto the next generation and set about fulfilling her life long ambition to open a quality restaurant which was “home from home” for her guests.
After much renovation work, The Courtyard finally opened in 1991 with a series of cookery demonstrations given by Sally, which are still enjoyed today. The Courtyard has since gone on to become one of the most popular restaurants in Warwickshire and has picked up a number of accolades and awards.
The Courtyard philosophy is simple: tasty food in warm, relaxed, but above all, civilized surroundings. We hope you enjoy the home-made food from Sally’s kitchen and the time you spend in our homely dining room.
